Straightforward information practices

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Freedom Crate Co. receives, why it is used, the service providers involved, and the choices available to customers and website visitors.

Effective August 10, 2026
01

Only what the shop needs

Information is collected to answer questions, prepare custom quotes, process orders, deliver purchases, and support customers.

02

Payments handled by Stripe

Payment-card details are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout rather than stored directly by Freedom Crate Co.

03

No sale of customer data

Freedom Crate Co. does not sell or rent personal information and does not currently use behavioral advertising trackers.

04

Questions are welcome

Customers may contact the shop to request access, correction, or deletion of information, subject to legal and transaction-record requirements.

01 / Who this policy covers

Freedom Crate Co.

This policy applies to information collected through the Freedom Crate Co. website, online checkout, custom-order form, email conversations, and related customer-service interactions. Freedom Crate Co. is a small independent woodworking business based in Florida.

02 / Information provided directly

Information customers choose to share

Depending on how the website is used, this may include:

  • Name, email address, and optional phone number.
  • Shipping address and other delivery information.
  • Products, quantities, selected options, promotion codes, and order details.
  • Custom-project dimensions, intended use, markings, deadlines, messages, and other specifications.
  • Uploaded photographs, sketches, logos, artwork, or PDF reference files submitted with a custom request.
  • Questions, support requests, reviews, or other communications.
Please do not submit unnecessary sensitive information.Custom-request uploads should not contain Social Security numbers, financial-account records, medical information, government identification, passwords, or other sensitive personal data that is not needed to prepare the project quote.

03 / Checkout and payment information

Stripe processes online payments

Online checkout is provided through Stripe. Stripe may collect a customer's name, email, phone number, billing and shipping information, payment-method information, IP address, transaction details, and information used for payment security and fraud prevention.

Payment-card details are submitted directly to Stripe. Freedom Crate Co. may receive transaction confirmations, contact and shipping details, payment status, product configuration, and limited payment information needed to manage the order. A protected server-side order record may be retained through Netlify so the shop can fulfill and document a paid order, but Freedom Crate Co. does not intentionally store full card numbers on this website.

04 / Custom requests and uploaded files

Netlify hosts forms and protected order records

The custom-order form is hosted through Netlify Forms. Netlify may process and store the information and files submitted through that form so Freedom Crate Co. can review the request, receive notifications, respond, and prepare a quote. For paid orders, Netlify may also retain a protected server-side fulfillment record containing the order and delivery details received from Stripe.

Uploaded reference material is used only for evaluating, communicating about, designing, quoting, or completing the requested project unless the customer separately gives permission for another use.

05 / Browser storage and technical data

How the storefront remembers a cart

The storefront uses browser local storage to keep cart contents on the customer's device and session storage to remember an entered promotion code during the browsing session. This information can be removed by clearing the cart or clearing browser site data.

Hosting, security, payment, and embedded-content providers may automatically receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, referring page, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events.

Freedom Crate Co. does not currently use third-party behavioral advertising pixels or sell browsing activity for targeted advertising. Embedded services, including the YouTube workshop video, may receive technical information under their own privacy terms when that content loads or is played.

06 / How information is used

Business purposes

  • Responding to questions and preparing custom quotes.
  • Creating, processing, fulfilling, shipping, and documenting orders.
  • Providing receipts, status updates, customer service, returns, and refunds.
  • Remembering cart selections and validating promotion codes.
  • Preventing spam, fraud, abuse, payment disputes, and security incidents.
  • Maintaining business, tax, accounting, warranty, and legal records.
  • Improving products, customer service, and the operation of the website.

Order or quote information is not automatically added to a promotional mailing list. Marketing messages will only be sent when a customer separately requests or agrees to receive them.

07 / When information is shared

Service providers and required disclosures

Information may be shared only as reasonably needed with:

  • Stripe for checkout, payments, fraud prevention, refunds, and disputes.
  • Netlify for website hosting, forms, uploads, security, and technical operation.
  • Shipping carriers used to deliver an order.
  • Email, communication, accounting, tax, or professional-service providers.
  • Courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, customers, or the business.
  • A successor or buyer if the business or substantially all of its assets are sold or transferred, subject to appropriate handling of the information.

Freedom Crate Co. does not sell or rent personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

08 / Retention and security

Keeping information only as long as reasonably needed

Retention depends on the type of information and why it was collected. Quote requests that do not become orders may be removed when they are no longer useful. Order, payment, shipping, tax, accounting, warranty, and dispute records may be kept longer when needed for legitimate business or legal obligations.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no website, email system, file transfer, or storage service can be guaranteed completely secure. Customers should avoid sending sensitive information that is not necessary for an order or quote.

09 / Customer choices

Access, correction, and deletion requests

A customer may contact Freedom Crate Co. to ask what personal information is held, request a correction, request a copy, or ask for deletion. A request may be limited when records must be kept to complete an order, handle a dispute, prevent fraud, or satisfy tax, accounting, or legal requirements.

Depending on where a visitor lives, additional privacy rights may apply. Reasonable steps may be taken to verify the identity of the person making a request before releasing or deleting information.

10 / Children's privacy

This storefront is intended for a general adult audience

The website is not directed to children under 13, and Freedom Crate Co. does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information should contact the shop so the information can be reviewed and removed when appropriate.

11 / External links and policy changes

Other websites have their own practices

The website links to services and sites such as Stripe, Netlify, Instagram, YouTube, and The Final Salute Project. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

This policy may be updated when the website, service providers, business practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when a material update is published.

Contact the person behind the shop.

Include enough detail to identify the order, quote request, or information involved. Do not email payment-card numbers or other sensitive financial information.
