The rules behind the storefront and workshop

Terms & conditions

These terms explain how website use, catalog purchases, custom requests, payments, shipping, returns, and product use are handled by Freedom Crate Co.

Effective August 6, 2026
01

Handmade means individual

Wood grain, finish, stencil placement, dimensions, and equivalent hardware may vary slightly without changing the intended function of the product.

02

Orders require accurate details

Customers are responsible for providing current contact, shipping, project, and payment information and reviewing selections before checkout.

03

Custom work follows the quote

A custom request is not an accepted order. Scope, price, shipping, estimated timing, and cancellation terms are confirmed before work begins.

04

Storage products, not certified safes

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Freedom Crates are not certified as fireproof, waterproof, childproof, explosive-resistant, or approved firearm-storage devices.

01 / Agreement

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern access to the Freedom Crate Co. website and purchases or requests made through it. By using the website, submitting a form, or placing an order, you agree to these terms and the applicable policies linked on the website.

A person using the website on behalf of a business or organization represents that they have authority to act for that entity. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the website or place an order.

02 / The shop and products

Handcrafted wooden storage

Freedom Crate Co. designs and builds wooden ammunition, range, storage, keepsake, military-inspired, and custom crates in Florida. Products are made or finished in small batches, and many are built to order.

Natural wood and handmade construction create reasonable variations in grain, knots, texture, color, paint, stencil placement, measurements, and finish. Equivalent or upgraded handles, hinges, latches, fasteners, or other components may be used when sourcing changes, provided the intended durability, function, and overall design are maintained. These ordinary handmade variations are not defects.

Product offerings, options, prices, descriptions, photographs, availability, and specifications may be corrected, updated, or discontinued without prior notice. Changes do not alter an order already accepted unless the customer agrees or the order must be canceled and refunded.

03 / What is included

Crates and selected options only

Unless a product page expressly says otherwise, ammunition, firearms, magazines, tools, range equipment, keepsakes, display props, padlocks, and other contents shown in photographs or videos are not included. The purchase includes only the crate and the options identified in the product description, cart, and order confirmation.

Military names, historical markings, caliber markings, and inspired designs describe the appearance or intended organization of a product. They do not imply manufacture, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or approval by the United States government, military, an ammunition manufacturer, or a firearm manufacturer unless expressly stated.

04 / Orders and payment

Accurate information and order acceptance

Customers must provide accurate and current contact, shipping, project, and payment information. Review the product, quantity, dimensions, hardware, interior, stencil, and other selections before completing checkout.

Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars. Payment is processed through Stripe or another identified payment provider. By submitting an order, you authorize the applicable provider to charge the total shown at checkout, including any disclosed shipping, tax, or other charge.

Freedom Crate Co. may refuse or cancel an order for suspected fraud, payment failure, pricing or listing error, unavailable materials, unsafe or unlawful requested content, shipping limitations, inability to complete the work, or another legitimate business reason. When a paid order is canceled by Freedom Crate Co. before fulfillment, the amount collected for the canceled portion will be refunded.

05 / Promotions

Discount and promotion rules

Promotion codes may have eligibility requirements, expiration dates, product exclusions, order limits, or other conditions. They have no cash value, may not be combined unless expressly allowed, and may be changed or discontinued before an order is placed.

A discount is not final until validated during checkout. Suspected misuse, automated attempts, resale, duplication, or circumvention of promotion limits may result in the discount or order being rejected.

06 / Availability and timing

Build time and carrier time are separate

Availability labels and timing estimates are based on the current workshop schedule, material supply, project complexity, and carrier conditions. Many products are made to order or built in small batches. An estimate is not a guaranteed delivery date unless Freedom Crate Co. expressly agrees to a guaranteed date in writing.

If a paid order cannot be shipped within the stated or otherwise applicable time, Freedom Crate Co. will communicate the delay and provide the options required by applicable law, which may include agreeing to the revised schedule or canceling the unshipped order for a refund.

07 / Shipping and delivery

Addresses, carrier handling, and delivery issues

Standard shipping is included for active catalog products and most custom orders delivered within the contiguous United States. Alaska and Hawaii require a separate quote. Unusually large or heavy custom builds may require a shipping charge disclosed and approved before payment or work begins.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete deliverable address. Contact Freedom Crate Co. immediately if an address needs correction. Changes may not be possible after a package is accepted by the carrier, and additional carrier costs caused by an incorrect customer-provided address may be the customer's responsibility.

Carrier scans and delivery records may be used when evaluating a missing or delayed shipment. Damage, missing contents, or an incorrect product should be reported promptly with the order details, packaging photographs, and product photographs.

08 / Custom requests

A request is not an accepted custom order

Submitting a custom-order form does not guarantee acceptance and does not authorize payment. Freedom Crate Co. may decline work that is outside the shop's capabilities, schedule, shipping limits, safety standards, or practical price range.

The written quote or order confirmation controls the approved dimensions, materials, markings, hardware, finish, quantity, shipping, price, payment schedule, and estimated build time. Customer approval may be required for mockups or material changes. Changes requested after approval may affect price and timing and may be declined after construction has progressed.

Completed custom builds are non-returnable after delivery. A custom build may be canceled for a full refund before building begins. After building begins, any available refund is prorated for labor completed and materials used or committed, and an applicable restocking fee may be assessed. Deductions will be explained before the cancellation is finalized.

09 / Customer-provided content

Permission and responsibility for artwork

A customer who supplies wording, insignia, logos, photographs, artwork, sketches, or files represents that they own the content or have permission to use it for the requested project. The customer grants Freedom Crate Co. a limited permission to receive, review, adapt, reproduce, and apply that content only as reasonably needed to quote, design, build, document, and communicate about the project.

Freedom Crate Co. may reject content that appears unlawful, infringing, deceptive, hateful, threatening, unsafe, or outside the shop's standards. The customer is responsible for claims caused by content or instructions they were not authorized to provide. Customer files will not be used publicly without separate permission except where necessary to resolve a payment, legal, or customer-service issue.

10 / Returns and cancellations

The posted policy controls

Eligible standard, non-custom catalog items may be returned within 14 days of delivery when they meet the posted return conditions. The customer pays ordinary return shipping. Custom builds are handled under the cancellation and non-returnable rules described above.

Damage, an incorrect item, or a confirmed workmanship issue is reviewed separately from an ordinary return. Do not discard the product or packaging until Freedom Crate Co. has reviewed the issue and provided instructions.

11 / Dimensions and capacity

Measure the item you actually need to store

Measurements identified as approximate may vary slightly because of handmade construction, material thickness, hardware, finish, and normal production tolerances. Exterior and interior dimensions are different and should not be used interchangeably.

Capacity examples depend on caliber, ammunition brand, factory-box dimensions, packaging, orientation, dividers, and the customer's loading method. A stated example is not a guarantee that every box, container, firearm, tool, or item with a similar description will fit. Contact the shop before ordering when fit is critical.

12 / Product use and care

Use the crate responsibly

Customers are responsible for selecting an appropriate product, loading it within reasonable limits, securing its contents, inspecting hardware, following ammunition and firearm manufacturer instructions, and complying with laws and safety requirements that apply where the product is used.

Unless a product page expressly states otherwise, Freedom Crates are not certified as waterproof, fireproof, childproof, climate-controlled, explosive-resistant, impact-rated, or approved firearm-storage devices. Lockable hardware does not make a wooden crate equivalent to a safe, vault, or legally required storage device.

Keep wooden products away from prolonged rain, standing water, excessive humidity, open flame, extreme heat, harsh chemicals, and conditions beyond the finish or hardware described. Inspect and maintain the crate as needed for its environment and intended use.

13 / Website use

Acceptable conduct

You may not use the website to:

  • Break a law, violate another person's rights, or facilitate fraud.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the website, services, accounts, or systems.
  • Introduce malicious code, interfere with security, or overload the website.
  • Scrape, copy, or automate access in a way that harms the site or business.
  • Submit false contact information, abusive messages, or deceptive orders.
  • Circumvent prices, promotions, purchase limits, or checkout protections.

Access may be restricted or blocked when reasonably necessary to protect customers, the business, service providers, or the website.

14 / Intellectual property

Site content and product identity

Website text, original photographs, graphics, logos, product names, page designs, stencil layouts, written content, and other original material are owned by or licensed to Freedom Crate Co. and may be protected by copyright, trademark, trade-dress, or other laws.

You may view and share ordinary website links for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, sell, publish, remove ownership notices from, or create commercial derivative works from protected content without written permission or another lawful basis.

15 / Third-party services

Stripe, Netlify, carriers, and external websites

The website relies on third parties for hosting, forms, payments, shipping, email, security, social media, video, and other services. Those providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Freedom Crate Co. does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, or independent practices of external websites merely because they are linked from this site.

16 / Disclaimers

Limits that apply where the law permits

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website is provided on an “as available” basis, and products are provided subject to their descriptions, approved specifications, posted policies, and any express written commitment made by Freedom Crate Co. No statement excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Freedom Crate Co. does not promise uninterrupted website access, error-free third-party services, exact color reproduction on every screen, or results from using a product for a purpose that was not described or approved.

17 / Limitation of liability

Responsibility tied to the affected purchase

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freedom Crate Co. and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from website use, third-party services, customer misuse, unauthorized modifications, improper storage, or use outside the product's described purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability arising from a product, order, or service will not exceed the amount paid for the specific product, order, or service giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

18 / Governing law and changes

Florida law and future updates

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without applying conflict-of-law rules, except where another law must apply. Any non-waivable rights available under consumer law remain in effect.

A provision that cannot be enforced will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining terms will continue in effect. Freedom Crate Co. may update these terms when products, services, providers, business practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised when an update is published.
